Quality Statement
I have set a standard for the things I make that they will be comfortable
and will hold up to normal wear and tear. I am happy to repair or
alter anything I have made to your specifications within reasonable
artistic expectations. I put my name behind my work.
Hand engraving of items is available through a third party and I
trust the standards of quality provided. I send this work to a local
engraver who is outstanding and very capable; she can do most anything
we can design.
Wear and Care information for metals and gemstones:
Metals: To clean your jewelry to a bright luster use a soft cloth
and silver polish or a jewelry polishing cloth (available through
me for $4.00 each, or purchased though a local jeweler) Avoid paper
towels and abrasive cleansers (including toothpaste!), sterling silver
and gold can scratch easily. Chemicals in household cleansers like
chlorine; perfumes, sunscreen, and perspiration can also affect metal
alloys. If your jewelry is exposed to such agents, immediately rinse
in mild soapy water and dry off completely with a soft cloth.
Gemstones: With any gemstone, I stress that you try to avoid any
hard impact, sudden temperature changes, and keep them away from
harsh chemical cleansers. Gemstones are delicate and require gentle
care. Diamonds, sapphires, and rubies are very durable but even they
can chip if hit hard enough. Commercial jewelry cleansers are very
effective in removing built up residue behind stones and return gems
to a brilliant luster. Emeralds, opals, turquoise, Lapis Lazuli,
Coral, and Pearls require special attention as these are the most
delicate (these should be cleaned only by a professional jeweler).
A professional jeweler should examine your jewelry once a year if
it is worn every day, to assure that all gemstones are snugly set
and that all prongs are in good condition. Have your strands of pearls
restrung once a year if you wear them often. When in doubt, most
jewelers are happy to examine and clean your items for you. |
